Question Blue snowball microphone driver not reinstalling Question Is my Blue Snowball Black Ice just dead? & yes its a nice budget mic & the sound quality from it with some tuning is just outstandingly better than any headset i owned, plug and forget, well if windows 10 behaved like an OS and not a big brother atleast I thought an update caused the drivers to be corrupted or perhaps didn't respond well with the system, since i hear a lot of things about updates breaking things, didn't thought they would disable it behind the scenes. Glad I could help! The new update automatically turns it off without asking the user and it's mildly infuriating to say the least.
I must of disabled it because i didn't want microsoft to listen to everything, but i didn't knew this also disabled it for everything that i do. Oh my god that worked! you are doing god's work! Settings -> Privacy -> Microphone -> make sure apps access to the microphone. Microsoft is obviously to be blamed for this. Glad to have you on TomsHardware nonetheless.
